Smile Welcome to TQ!

Sounds like you are getting a very fine detector. You should be finding treasure soon - and posting the pictures here for all of us to drool over!

All the manuals, films, cd's etc. are fine, but it comes down to exactly how you handle your machine and what it sounds like to YOU.

Find a nice clear area of the yard and place targets of various types in it one at a time, then in groups. Be sure to have some good old nails!

If you want to work at depth an easy way is to buy a cheap box of cat litter. That makes it really easy to place targets at depth and makes sure you won't lose them.

Practice sweeping over a "hit" from different directions and listen to the way the sound changes.

When you actually get into the "wild" to hunt predict what you are going to find when you dig a hit. I'll bet that you will find, after a while, that you will be right more times than your detector is!

Good luck and happy hunting!
