Default New to TQ Forum from SC

Hello,
Just found this forum this morning. I have been metal detecting off and on for a few years. Seems to me it is so hard to get permission to detect sometimes and we get the run around, or have to wait so long for someone to get back to us. Do you ever get discouraged with that? Then there are most all the historical places around along with state parks here that you can't metal detect at.

A few years ago I found my first Indian War button. That was exciting. I have found a few wheaties, lots of regular coins, a locomotive button which is hard to see and I am not sure where it came from, And.. found an old metal mothers ring. Found one gold ring at the beach also, what an exciting time that was.

My husband has now picked up the hobby. While I have a cheapy Bountry Hunter, my husband just got himself a used White 6000di pro plus. The signals on those when they find things sound like a loud humming noise. I love the high pitch of the bounty hunter but seriously thinking of getting another detector soon. I will be checking out the sponsors here.

Well, looks like a great place to hang out and learn. I especially would love to meet other people either from my area or even out of the area. Looking forward to speaking with you all.

HH,
Sonja

Welcome Sonja!! TQ is indeed an awesome place!! The more, the merrier around here!! That's awesome that you're making the most of your Bounty Hunter - honestly, if it leads you to good finds (as that obviously has) then I can't say anything bad about it! Don't get discouraged with permission, just keep looking and researching places to go, and make sure your friends and relatives letcha in on their property!

It sounds like you're in for good times! Congrats on getting your husband into the hobby, and I'm sure everyone on TQ will cheer you on, no matter whatcha dig up!! Welcome!!

Hi Sonja,

Welcome to the family of friends.

Spent about 3 months in your state in a little spot called, Parris Island. They wouldn't let me MD there either. lol.

We have some good folks from S.C., I'm sure they can help you out.

Dave
