Default Hello

Howdy Folks - My name is Jerry and I'm a new member. I am very interested in starting my "new" hobby of metal detecting. I have been an Amateur (Ham) Radio operator since 1985 and it is a great hobby. I have made friends all over the planet AND in space over the years. Talking with some of the astronauts on the Space Shuttle was one of the many exciting contacts I have made.
I'm doing my homework on metal detecting. I'm looking at the many "brands" and will purchase one before the spring. Mixing metal detecting and Ham Radio sounds like it would be fun AND I can get some exercise!
I am open to talking with any of the forum members to help me with this new hobby..... I could use the help!
Thanks to all and Happy Holidays all around.

Jerry - N1TKO

Welcome to the site Jerry! Glad to have you on! This is a great hobby, and decent exercise. It sure beats sitting in front of the TV. I think you will enjoy it very much.

Give our sponsors a holler I am sure they will be able to help, Beale.

Hi Jerry and welcome to TQ, a bunch of friendly and helpful people here and I see you just found a hunting partner .

This is a great hobby and being a ham, I'm sure you can get some leads on places to hunt from fellow hams.

Any questions, just ask away!
