Smile Welcome to TQ!

Welcome to TQ. You have signed up for the friendliest, most helpful site on the internet.
SE Indianapolis - my sister must live near you on Lexington street.
The ACE 250 is a great machine. I would suggest getting the sniper coil and an extra lower rod assembly to go with the standard coil. A handheld pinpointer could be an asset too.
Look around on this site for ideas of where to hunt. There should be a lot of good places around Indianapolis and the small towns in Marion and Johnson counties. There are a lot of old house yards to check. My sister's house was built circa 1860 - I can't wait to get back there and search her yard!
The anti-slavery underground railroad ran through Franklin, IN - and there are a lot of old house sites there too.
If you get the ACE 250 be sure to read the manual (need to read the 150 section before the 250 section) and watch the DVD.
Then sign onto this site with any questions.
Happy hunting

Default Welcome aboard

Welcome Aboard and I know you will be happy with a Garret Ace 250...I may end up with one in a few months myself just to give another brand a try...

Hi Nyghtwalker, WELCOME to TQ. Lots of Graet folks here and the Ace 250 has a lot of users here. Talk to our Sponsors as they can help Ya out as There are some other detectors in that range that Ya might want to check out such as the new fisher F2, comes with an extra lower shaft and 4" coil or the Tesoro Cibola or Silver U Max. depending on what kind of Hunting your gonna do and if you want Pre-set Ground Balance or manual GB, Metered, Non-Metered and so on. You will geta lot of input here and from our Sponsors so ask all the questions Ya want and make yourself at home.

Th TINMN
