Default Join a detecting club?

I have checked in my area and there dosen't seem to be any metal detecting clubs in my immediate area. First of all, is it worth joining one? Does anyone have any thoughts on how I could start one....any help would be appreciated! Anyone on here belong to a detecting club?

YES by all means it helps belonging to a MD Club. I have started many during the past 50+ years and it is always Great to associate with others in the hobby. If you will PM me I will be more than glad to give you any information that you need to start your own club. What part of the country do you live in?

I joined a club shortly after purchasing my M6 and I really enjoy it. I've learned a lot about the hobby since joining. I have the opportunity to go on club hunts monthly which were great, and met some awesome people as well. If you can find one, by all means go to a meeting and see what its all about. Good luck.

I belong to one about 45 minutes from me. I don't attend alot of meetings but most of their hunts. Some are open and some are members only which are nice.

I would say join if it was in a reasonable driving distance for you for you to attend when you can. Our newsletters usually help me decide on meetings that I definitely want to go to, not that I can always make them but I do try.
