i've heard great things about the ace 250, and as a white's xlt user i feel that any whites product would be good for a beginner. never used either machine personally, but i'm sure others will help you come to a conclusion. let us know what you end up getting!!

Default The ACE250 is a Very popular choice.

It is hard to get more value for your dollar and use it in all the applications you are interested in. Remember to drop the sensitivity to 3 or 4 on salt water beaches or it will false on you.

Cheers,

BDA

If you're leaning to the Prizm II I'd go ahead & put the extra $100 in & get the Prizm III, I have it & love it, it's worked great for me, the Ace 250 is great also from what I read on here, good luck.

That is the price that you will be finding the machine for. Some places may include other accessories in the same price. Check KellyCo to see what they may offer. Good luck!

Thanks for the warm welcome!! My dad just said to me a few weeks ago "I would like to get a good metal detector" and have been looking for one ever since. :) We are both getting very into it. Like I really need any more hobbies. I fish, hunt, work on cars, race cars, play paintball, work on boats, now metal detecting. :) I have my hands full.
