Default New To TQ, What MD Should I get? 1st One!!

I have been searching the forums now for about a week trying to figure out what MD to get. It will be my 1st one (besides those little cheap $40 MD from walmart when i was a kid). I have been leaning towards the ACE 250, or Whites Prizm II. Here is what its going to be used for.... I live in PA, alot of woods, and lakes nearby. So mainly going to use it for shore lines on lakes, in the woods, playgrounds/camping areas. Then also want to take it to the beach which i go regularly. Will be used in the sand both dry and wet. Will be my 1st decent MD so want to get something under $300 but dont want any junk. mainly want to find coins/rings/watches/ect that people have dropped or lost at the beach. There have also been a few ship wrecks off where I will be going and heard alot of people find coins that wash up from these wrecks. Need something thats easy to use, can stand going into a few inches of water, and will not have trouble finding these types of things. Thanks and im glad to be a member of TQ, and hope to stay awhile!! :)

Also where is the best place to buy either a whites Prizm II, or a ACE 250 for the best price? unless you guys suggest something else. Then where would i get that?

Thanks

Salt fisherman... I bought the prizm-III only because I used older whites machine in mid seventies.. I only used for three months last Sept till Nov.. then the big freeze here.. had alot of luck with it 17 dollars clad...three rings.. three lb sledge in tot lot...used by constructers there... I think doesnt matter what machine just have to learn it and what it whispers in your ear... good luck and welcome Chick!

Was looking at the prizim III but the II was a little more in my price range for a 1st unit. Deciding on that or the ACE 250.

I am not familiar with the Whites Prizm II. The Ace250 will do what you are expecting. It is in your price range and you could also purchase the optional sniper coil and meet your budget. Good luck!

Saltfisher, welcome to Treasure Quest. This is the place to be. I would get with some of our sponsors here on this site and make your choice. The Ace and the Whites are real good for the money and I don't think you would be disappointed with ether of them. You can look up some of the past posts on these fine machines on this site..Lots of good information for sure....Glad you are here...Buster....

Welcome to TQ!!! Sounds like you have narrowed it down. I was set on the same two machines after reading posts for two months. I checked websites of the sponsors and found a great deal. Don't forget to mention TQ! Make sure you read this for some great tips on choosing: Treasure Quest - Choosing the Right Metal Detector

There are a lot of great spots to MD in PA. Good luck to you!

Welcome to the site Saltfisher! Glad to have you drop in!

The Ace 250 is used by a lot of people on this site. It does very well in different places. The Prizm doe not get as much talked about. It may be just because it is not as new a model as the Ace? I really think either will do well, good luck with the choice, Beale.
