Default Tesoro Vaquero

Would just like to hear some personal reviews and finds on the Vaquero!I bought one and have just played around with it trying to get to know the machine.Have only found junk so far and I understand finds depend on area, machine and user.I havent found anything more than 4 or 5 inches deep so I'm a little concerned about depth, maybe this will come as I learn more about the adjustments.I am happy with it and looking forward to some good finds.I would just like to hear some personal reviews and tips please.Going to the park today! Thanks.

Hey Moore, Had A vequero and Loved It. They will go Deep. Got several Wheats at 8 & 9 inches and a Quarter at 12 and that was without the 5.75 H.O. T. Coil. As You said the Ground and other factors will come into play and Your Ground Balance is a Great Part of It. Easy to do tho. Just Keep Playing with it and Ya won't be Sorry. If Ya don't have the 5.75 H.O.T. coil I would suggest getting one when you can. Awesome Detector. The Only reason I sold Mine was I'm Going More to Beach & Water and wanted the CZ21 so it and My Surfmaster had to go Plus I Have A Wilson Coin Select for My Land Stuff. If You go to the Members list and Pull Up Crazy Ed... You can PM him for more info as He bought mine as a Backup For his Tejon and is Very Happy with It. Great Guy and sure he can help Ya with any other questions Ya may have. The Vequero will Go Deep. I'm Sure others will chime in and you can also post your question on the Metal Detector forum on the Home Page for Tesoro... Sub-Forum Vequero.

Good Luck & HH

Hey Moore I do not run a Vaquero but I know it is a sweet machine. Known to hit deep like Tinman says. I know that I hear good things about them also. You may want to give the sponsors a buzz. I know that Tony from TC carrys them and knows them well.
Good luck to you, Beale.

Thanks for replies. Will take ya"lls advice.Did buy the 5.75 H.O.T coil Tinman, have been out 3-4 times and have barely used stock coil.Having a little trouble pinpointing sometimes.I'd say 70% I'm right on.Is it possible for glass or rocks to give a positive signal?Maybe I'm not digging deep enough on some hits but afraid of getting yelled at by a tree hugger. If I wanna find anything I guess I'll have to go deep. Thanks again.

Hi Moore and welcome to TQ, I don't have the Vaquero but I do have a Cibola, it's a lightweight, fast and deep detector for sure. I don't think you'll have any regrets. Read your manual, the Cibola has a "supertune" feature, not sure if yours does or not.

Anyway good luck with it, I'm sure the more you use it, the better and deeper the finds will be.

HI Moore, Don't Know about Glass but some Rocks May give Ya a False signal depending what mineral content it Is. Just Keep Practicing and You'll get the Pinpoint Down to a Science. On The H.O.T. Coil your Sweet Spot should be where the little RED DOT IS. You may have to dig Deep cuz If It Tells Ya Something Is There.. Then It's There. I Know what Ya mean about getting Yelled at but alot of the Cool is Deep ( Depending on what Ya consider that to be To ) Just Keep at It and if Ya can find a Place where NO One is Gonna be makin a Stink about Ya diggin a Deep Hole then thats a good place to practice and make some finds. It can be really hard to dig Deep and keep the size of the Hole Small so no one is upset. I feel your Pain. As I said, Just keep at it and before Ya Know it You and That Vequero will be Pullin the Deep Stuff out of the Ground without anyone knowin you were even there. OH Yeah... Ya CAN SuperTune The Vequero.
