Welcome to the site Adam!!
Hey Adam you are at a great age to start MD'n. I wish I had started earlyer. Heck the local schools, parks, ballfields, and tot lots are good places to start. Once you get your detector start at the easier spots to get the hang of it. You can move into the history part. Good luck to you, Beale.

Hi, Mista and welcome to TQ!
There are a lot of ways to find good places to hunt in town and one of them is through family and friends. If you have family in the area, do any of them have a older home that they will allow you to hunt? Do you have friends who own an older home? Playgrounds and parks are usually good places to hunt. Your town library or historical society can provide information about any Civil War sites in the area. Many areas have metal detecting clubs. Maybe there is one near you. There might be some members from TQ near by who can steer you in the right direction. There's a few ideas for starters. Hope they help! ![]() PS: If you hunt in parks, make sure detecting is allowed.
