Hi MistaElvis The best advice I can give, is "newly turned dirt". The two best situations are agricultural fields, and when land is cleared for construction, logging, etc. Although I'll walk any area where the earth's been disturbed, and points can be found anywhere with luck, especially good sites for Indian relics are ones close to water (creeks, streams, rivers). Other than that, the key is persistance, patience, and just simply looking at everything on the ground very closely. After a while, "worked" rocks just kind of jump out at you when you see them. The collection I have in the frame is a lifetime of finds. I found some of those points as a young'un, (hate to confess) maybe 30-35 years ago. Used to spend a lot of time looking, too, and you'll always find more peices and heart-breakers than good'uns. Don't mind confessing this, but my wife found a good share of our collection herself ("that looks like a good spot over there, dear" can sure backfire sometimes!). You're in good area for points; just look everyplace you can as much as you can, and good luck! |
