Default AZ Newbi Here "Living on The Sun"

Hello all.
Im a new member, and new to this hobby, but have been checking out this site for quite awhile now..After reading alot of the great info and reviews here, i have decided on the ACE 250 to break me in with,"ill be ordering it tonight or tomorrow". In about six months i would like to upgrade to a all around great detector for gold huntting on my parents gold claim here in AZ, (160 acres). I personaly have never been to the claim yet, but the last time i visited my parents my father drew me a map to an old Spanish mine they found, and an indian ruins site that are on the gold claim.. What would be yall's, "Im still a TX boy at heart" reconmmendations be for an all around detector that can do it all?
Thanks in advance for all the great info..

Hi, SW, and welcome to TQ! Glad you made the choice to join!

Don't forget to place yourself on our "buddymap"!

The acreage sounds like an outstanding hunt site. It will be great to see how it pans out!

Welcome to the site Space_Weaseal!! Glad to have you join us. The Ace is a great unit for the money. Heck we got plenty of folks using it as a main unit doing quite well.

If after a while you wanna upgrade? Well the X-Terra 70 is a great unit with lots of punch, Beale.

Hi Weasel and welcome to TQ. You're getting into a great hobby.

For a recommendation for an all around detector (and I'm partial to Minelab ) I would look at the xterra 70 or possibly the Sovereign. Good luck with that ACE 250 alot of people on here finding alot of stuff with it!

Welcome. The Garrett 250ace will be an excellent choice for a first time detector user, heck it is even a good choice for a seasoned coin hunter. I am sure if you need any help in finding gold out on your parents property just post a message on this forum. I am guessing there would be at least 1 or 2 people on here that would be more then happy to give you a hand trying to find a nugget or two. Have fun.
