Default Wow, Thanks for all the messages!

Thanks guys! I did re-check the hole to confirm. I found some other pieces and hand scanned 'em and they show. I thought about Lead in the glass as well. Lead forms white oxides, and some oxides are semi-metalic in their properties. The junk I'm finding is old enough to be before the ban on lead.

I found SILVER Yesterday! Still in my backyard. Saint Mary Medalion. Not three feet from where the pocketwatch came up. I'm beginning to think there might be more in that corner of the yard. There is an old oak there that was part of the original property. The house is located on the first rise in the ground above the Laguna de Santa Rosa in Sebastopol, about two blocks up from where the railroad station was, and one block up from where the first gas station in the county sits.

I imagine that I will have plenty of interesting finds around here!

Hi Deefburger and welcome to TQ. Your backyard is a great place to start as I guess you realize from your finds!

I agree with Beale about the glass, also some glassware and pottery have gold or silver leaf designs that may set the detector off.
