Hello from the Wine Country
Hi all,
I'm a newB! Just getting started with a White's Quantum XT. WOW! This blows the doors off the radio shack model I had as a kid! So far I've searched only my backyard, and came up with a pocket watch body and a toy cannon, along with pull tabs, can tops, aluminum foil, and white glass shards. I don't understand the glass!  What's up with that? Very good signal on it with it down 8" in wet adobe!????Hope to get to the beaches around Russian River and Bodega Bay soon. IM if you live near by and want to plan an outing. I could probably use the pointers of someone with experience. Deef

The white glass piece. 2 ideas, the galss has lead in it, or the paint (color) does? I dunno that is my only idea, Beale.

Hi Deef and welcome to TQ! You know, I have sometimes wondered about that myself. I get a signal and pull up glass. For me, the jury is still out on this one but EBC's post makes me wonder....
Glad to have you here and hope you will have some nice finds to show us. Sounds like your machine will do its job just fine!

HI Deefburger and WELCOME to TQ !
Beale and Yardog raise some good points. Recheck the hole as when you find Glass or Pottery and such then there may be other things in the same area. If there are no other signals in the same spot then I would think as Beale says that there is some kind of Metalic Content On or In the Glass.
