HI cvalleygirl and WELCOME to TQ ! Not Familiar with the Lone Star but have used the Pioneer XL & 202 and they will Hunt for sure. As the others have said.. Read & reread the Manual and Practice & practice some more. Remember that there are 2 control boxes... 1 on the detector and 1 right there in the middle of your shoulders. Let your ears be the link between the 2. Once you learn the tones and what they are telling you then you and Your machine will be in Sync and there won't be No stopping You !! It can get frustrating at times but just keep at it and We are here to support You. Ask all the Questions Ya Have. Also you can post your questions in the Metal Detector forum on the Home Page in the BH. Section. Glad to have you with us and Good Luck & HH !!!
