Have you held them in your hands?
If not get to a local dealer to swing them in person becuse..What looks good on paper might not feel good in your hands..

Hi, David and welcome to TQ! We have a metal Detector Review Forum that may help. Reviews by TQ members of their machines that many people use.

Torn between 3 machines? Why not buy all 3?

I always ask if you are sure about the type of hunting you want to do. Are you interested in beng able to hunt in the water? Do you have a particular type of item you want to hunt? Any impediments to using a visual or audible indicator?

Space Weasel's advice to try each one is a great idea, Do you have a dealer nearby?

Welcome to the site David. For sure try to get a chance to swing them in person. I had a Whites/Garrett dealer near my house. I drove 1 1/2 hours one way to swing a X-Terra 70. I ended up with the 70?

It helps to hold and feel them. Also give our sponsors a buzz they can help you for sure, Beale.

Hello David.... I don't know where in Mass you are, but I have an ACE 250 and I love it for the woods or the beach. Its a terrific machine and works well. If you ever want to take her for a test run, let me know. Me and Chick (prism Pal) live here in Lowell and could take you to a few spots. Chick has a number of detectors also.
Take care and welcome to TQ

Jerry
