Heck if I find nothing but pull tabs, I still enjoy reading your stories, so that to me means PAYDAY!!!! I want to thank each and everyone of you for making me feel right at home.

As for the price range I wanna start small, and get to know the ropes, and as the days...Months.....Ok I am old so I will stop at months....goes on I will upgrade..Maybe start at around 150-200 range.

In your price range, the Ace 250 and the Fisher 2 are good detectors. Alot of people here including myself use the Garretts Ace 250. Great starter machine and works as well as the pricier machines. When you get your machine, read the manual, watch the DVD, practice, then do all of these things over again. It's a very fun hobby, and in the area you are in, you should be finding some very interesting pieces of history before you know it. Good luck and happy hunting.

Default Welcome Chris

NIce to have you here. There are alot of quality MDs in that range. The "best" one could be different for alot of people. Which ever one you buy, learn it well, and you will be rewarded.

Hey Chris in that price range the Ace 250, Fisher F2, The Tesoro Compadre to name 3 detectors. All 3 will do a great job for you. They all get you into this hobby around $200. The Compadre is $155 with a lifetime warranty.

I know all 3 will find good items. Good luck with your choice, Beale.

if that's your price range, i'd say go with the Ace 250. i hear great things about it and it should be perfect for your hunting needs.
