Welcome Dave. I'm new to metal detecting and also a new 250 user. You're getting good advice. Even with all the visual and audio information you'll get from modern detectors It takes PRACTICE. You'll be able to make finds right away but it takes a while to really get to know your machine. Good Luck!

Dave-
Welcome to Treasure Quest!

Enjoy the 250, from what I hear, it's a great machine.
Advice...Read the manual, twice.
Dig everything until you know exactly what the 250 is telling you.
Have fun, and enjoy, it's all about the hunt.

Happy Hunting!
