Smile Hey! from NE Georgia

I'm retired ( thank goodness!) and moved from big city of Atlanta to the peace and quiet of the NE Georgia Mtns. I had a great career with the US Forest Service and wish I had a dollar for all the hobbies I have tried in 68 years. Metal Detecting is the latest. It is great. Bought a Whites Classic ID from Kellyco. Good for finding clad and general use around old homesites but wont go very deep. Good starter unit. I have had good luck at gravel pull-offs where folks stop to fish, picnic , or whatever. I really enjoy reading TQ posts from all of you and have picked up many tips. I'm still looking for that "big Find"!

Hi, watthour30, and welcome to TQ!

Wow! 2 new members from Georgia the same day! Has to be some kind of record here!

I am glad you found us and let me invite you to explore TQ and take advantage of all we have to offer. Our volunteers have helped us make TQ what it is today, a friendly place to share your passion for MDing and for feeling "at home".

Sounds like you are off to a great start and you have already had a couple great ideas for where to look!
