Default Medical Question

Are there any members that have a pacemaker? I can't seem to find out if there's any danger using the detector. One plus is I shouldn't have any trouble finding something, eh?

Default Pacemaker

Get with Gordiesgirl...I think that Gordon has a pacemaker...

WELCOME to the TQ FAMILY !

I know of no problems that a pacemaker would cause with a detector nor the detector with the pacemaker.

Welcome to Treasure Quest.

A metal detector should not affect a pacemaker.

My Husband has a pacemaker, Difib unit, and after much research and talking to Boston Scientific the maker of these units. There is no problem for you to metal detect. The coil should not be run over the unit for any reason but there is not enough of a magnetic field to cause any problems with regular use. A cell phone can cause more of a problem than a metal detector. If you need any other info just PM me best of luck to you

Hi, acrisman, and welcome to TQ!

We had a scare when Gordie received a pacemaker. A lot of our members looked into it and contributed information in this post:

Can This Be True?

Hopes this helps!
