Welcome to Treasure Quest paradiseyellow...Glad you are here...Water detecting is a little different than sand or dirt hunting...You might want to read up on some of the past posts on beach hunting...There is a lot to learn but it is well worth it in the long run...We have some really good water hunters on this site...I am sure they will chime in and welcome you also...I have been getting ready to make my plunge into the water here in Florida...Still getting all my equipment ready and waiting for a little warmer weather..Welcome again to the family...Buster.....

Default TY for the warm welcome

Thank you everyone for the great welcomes. I have been hunting around my house in the past two days and found a lot of nails and pieces of metal lol. Today I actually found a mercantile merchandise 80 cent token but can't seem to find much information on it. Also found a white rock that has some brown thru it that makes my detector go off but can't figure out what it is.. doesn;t look like gold so not sure. Could anyone point me in the right direction on how to clean what you find and also how to find out what you found? lol. Thanks,
Tonja

Tonja, you can post a picture of the items on the Ask Pappy part of the site...He has a very good knowledge of a lot of things and I don't think I have ever seen him not know what an item is....He will know for sure...As for cleaning of finds...you can put coin cleaning in the box at the top right corner and it will take you to posts about cleaning..I looked up one yesterday and am cleaning an old coin right now....Buster..

Welcome Tonja to TQ. Hope you find lots of good stuff. If you go to the East Coast of Fla, be careful where you go. Can't hunt in the water in the Treasure Coast area.
