Default New to the board from SC

Hi all,
A bit about myself...I started detecting back in the early 80's when I was about 12 or so. I finally hassled my dad enough about those Whites detectors sold by Sears enough that I got one for Christmas. A few years later in 1985 I bought a Whites 6000 Di S3 and loved it. Loved it so much I still use it with another one (hipmounted) that I bought off Ebay a few years ago. I've been detecting on and off over this time since I had a son, changed careers (from being a Funeral Director to Flying for the airlines) now things have settled and I'm hunting again (mostly for older coins and relics). The neatest hunting I have ever done was during the 90's I lived in New Zealand for 6 years and found all kinds of neat coins there...it was nice because there are very few metal detector hobbyists in NZ so most places I hunted were virgin territory.
Outside of hunting I live in the Fort Mill SC area (near Charlotte NC) and fly the B 747- LCF "Dreamlifter" for Boeing and spend a lot of time with my 7 year old who is starting to show an interest in THing when I'm at home.

Welcome frieghtdawg to the TQ family...I see you been doing this for a while, you came to the right place for some camaraderie. Im in the aviation field also, a structural mechanic. Worked on CH-53e helo's for 20 yrs, now working on USAF C-130 Hercules models..all of em. I'm partial to the gunships..neat planes, too bad the Marines never had em' but we could always call the flyboy's when we did need em...!
