Hello TQ!!!

I just joined the group from the Pike's Peak Region of Colorado. I have only had the Garrett ACE250 for a couple of weekends now and have about 10 hours time in. I am now at the stage where I am learning the difference between pull tabs and bottle caps! I have however managed to find a few pennies, couple of clad quarters and a child religious medallion.
I am looking forward to more time this summer and anticipate better finds. The machine has been excellent for this beginner and I find it frustratingly relaxing.
I would appreciate any information offered as I may be getting "Old" (As my daughter reminds me every chance she gets) but I won't ever be too old to learn some new tricks.

Hi NEWBIEACEINCO and welcome aboard. I also live in the Pikes Peak area.
There is a lot of mining and railroad history here. When the the snow is gone in the high country, lets take a trip up to Cripple Creek/Victor mining towns and see what we can find. I read in the local paper 2 weeks ago about a construction worker in Manitou Springs that dug up a coin that could be worth 3 million dollars. Wouldn't you like to see the shine of that coin in your hole.

Hi, Colorado, and welcome to TQ!

Sounds like you will like this new hobby. All sorts of benefits besides the relaxation. It will take you places you never have been to and make you think "deep" thoughts!
