i always wonder about the outhouse

we have a 40 farm site in friendship ,nc and have a outside privy thats been there since or prior the civil war. not in use anymore for years. also have a well there also ,rock lined.mmmmmmmm. never been searched, that i know of. years ago when the fields would get plowed each for the tobacca, you could find nice arrowheads all the time. the reason i know that the farm has been there all these yrs is that has been in the family since the beginning. the old story goes, that my ggg grandaddy was a farmer at that site back during the civil war and didnt want to fight for certain reasons, so when the confederates come to get him he hid out in the woods behind until he thought the coast was clear. anyway that was the story told to me by my granddaddy. think i should search, huh. got to run, catbird

Hi Catbird. Is that Freindship N.C. near Bowden or Warsaw?...or Fiendship NC near the Tennesee border? If its near the Bowden area then its not to far from the Goldsboro and Bentonville Battlefields. I would definetly dig an old privey and be careful with the well, that can be dangerous work!

no , the farm site is close to apex about 25 miles south of raleigh,nc. if only dirt could talk. got to run, catbird

I remember when we would re-locate our out houses that we would always take and fill in the old one with bottles, can's and junk we had around the house...GREAT PLACES to hunt...PAPPY
