Default now i gotta do it !

with all this talk of privy dig's I'm thinking i should dig the privy at my great grandparents house this summer. My auant still lives in this house and my mom grew up there.I have old photos and know the history. When my g.grandfather bought this house (30's-40's)it was in disrepair, and being a carpenter he restored it.The house once belonged to members of the Loomis gang and still had a whiskey still when my g.grandpa bought the house. The last privey location is known and my brother has and still uses the original outhouse(complete with 1/2 moon door) There is also a story of hidden pistols(but thats another story) I've been learning latly that i tend to over look things that are right in front of me !

Default Thought i would add..

the story of the pistols. When my mom was a kid my g.grandfather found her playing with his pistols, one was a pearl handeled derringer judjing by the discription my mom gave,Mom told me that soon afterwards she saw my g.grandfather walk out behind the barn with the pistols and when he came back he no longer had them.I've searched for them but never thought to cheak the outhouse. There's one other spot,an old trash pile were they could be,but this is a swampy area with a lot of metal scrap. Also theres the matter of a box of gold coins that were suposed to go to my mom when grandpa died but knowbody has found these(that we know of).And now thanks to all this remenicing rain sleet snow or even mad bulls aint gunna stop me from going there with my detector, pick, shovel, siffter (and bakhoe )first thing tomorrow !!! HH..Terry

Took these photos of the original outhouse today. This now sets outside my brothers " get away from the ol'lady bulding" He converted the basement of an old barn into a home office/getaway all the comforts of home(coumputer, sony playstation, electric guitars, you know guy stuff) so we still use the outhouse.I dont know if my G.grandfather built it or it was there when he bought the house back in the 30's or 40's.I'm getting pretty exited about this dig as anything i find will prety much be a family heirloum !

hey cw ! not likely that anyone would try and use it as big brother bob can be a bit cranky sometimes ! I took a picture of the original spot were i'll be digging but left my detector and camera in my buddy's van. so i'll have to post em later.I cheaked the spot over today and found a good sized tree growing, but hopfully its off to the side. Also someone has piled brush there and its overgrown with briear bushes.
