Placer Gold Deposits of Arizona
Hi everyone, I just want to mention a book I have just gotten in and started reading. It was written by Maureen Johnson. It seems to have a wealth of information about the locations of the gold districts especially placer prospecting. It also has a fold out map of Arizona showing locations of the gold districts. Unfortunately you really need a magnifying glass to read the wording on the map of Arizona. But for the price and size of the book I think it is a good deal. I would definitely want to have this book with me if I were going to Arizona to prospect or metal detect for gold nuggets. Ok everyone have a great weekend and happy hunting too!

Also they have had some good storm activity out in Central Arizona and has exposed new gold. On the Arizona Outback forum ole Montana Bob writes that he has been working the newly exposed material and he has shown the results of his excursions. He is using the Minelab GPX-4000. I tell ya I wish I could go back to Arizona to nugget hunt with him. I talked to Walt a couple of days ago that is another member of Team Nuggetfinder and he said there is still a lot of gold on Rich Hill. It is there if you have what it takes to find it!
I covered a tremendous amount of ground in Southern Arizona prospecting as a teenager with an ole timer. He had a homemade drywasher and it worked! That was in the early 70's. I was too poor to afford a metal detector then because they were very expensive. So Minelab is still making the good finds. The PI or VLF will work.
