Default A highbanker

Would be nice, if I ran accross a engine driven pum farly cheap,I might build one of those.
I really need to do some more research about staking a claim, and making sure I'm not on someone else's claim. There's lotsa gold still in these idaho mountains just there for the taking for the guy who knows where to look.

Hi I hate jumping in being new, but for recirculating water I use a 750 bilge pump, $15.00 to $20.00 at Walmart it's worked good for me.

Default found some free plywood and 1x4's pics taken

localeted a door pallet in our door shop today, it was made of cheap plywood about 7/16-1/2" thick, I took out all the screws, and ripped it to size, I was able to get 2 pieces 12"widex 5 ftlong from it.
I also found a pallet made of 1x4 pine boards, they were exactly 5 ft in length.I was able to get 8 5ft pcs all for the lowprice of "free-ninety-nine"
Will post pics If I can figure out how
Doc I'm not sure a 750gphbilge pump would work with a highbanker, the one I saw looked like it would need more flow, but I didn't see it working, only on the showroom floor it had an engine driven pump I'd guess it was about 5hp engine. But maybe,as I stated earlier,I'm just an armchair expert at this point.and still got a whole lot to learn.
Hank

Hi, I'm Glad Your Project Is Going Good Hank. That Pump Would Work You Would Just Need To Build Your Spray Bar Accordingly. I Do See A Problem With It Running For Long Periods Though Unless It Was Rated For Continuous Duty..Thanks JJ

Thanks JJ.

Hank,
If you need more or less ripples, adjust the front legs of the high banker for more or less gravity flow. If the water flow is too fast, the gold will wash out and if it's too slow the gold won't move to where you want it. You want the water to flow just enough to wash the lighter material out. At this point I'd like to mention, when you paint or stain your high banker, don't use an oil base. Oil adheres to gold and your smaller particles will float. I hope this helps.

Default good to know about the paint

I'd also read that the ribbed rubber mat comes with an oily mold release that needs to be removed before it's used.
I may just leave it unpainted,it'll be"stickier"that way. I think I finally figured out how to do pic's lets see if this works!!!
