Gracie& I were camped in northern NV, Trying to chase down those shie nuggets, After driving over 2000 miles they had better make a showing, and quick.
I came back to camp for lunch hoping Gracie would have something besides bologna sandwiches, but with no gold to show it did not look good. She had better luck than I did for she found some beautiful crystals & was giving them a bath. I was thinking she better save that water for I was the one that was needing the bath. From lessons learned, I kept my mouth shut. Knowing that it mite pay dividends, I asked her where she found them & tried to show interest, for I am not into crystals. She pointed down in the flats in the sagebrush. That sparked a little interest for I have found gold where I found crystals, we usually found them in rocky out crops close to the mountains. After lunch (bologna) I got her to show me where she found them, I cranked up the SD 2100 & was doing my thing when I got a signal under a bush, Thinking the coil gave me a false signal when it hit the sage bush. I went back & gave it another go. MAN O MAN, That, SD was playing my song.
I pinpointed it & gave the location a couple of whacks with my pick, & belched at both ends, Gracie giving me that look, You marred guys will know the look. Dam bologna, But that look turned to smiles when she saw what I was holding in my hand. 17.2 grams of beautiful sponge gold. It had been awhile since I had done anything to make her smile. I was thinking that I mite be on a lucky streak. chuck

wow i'd heard of gold being found closer into the brush where it hasn't seen much action because people dont wanna go where it's too difficult. i wonder if your's falls into that category. either way you were sure rewarded after the balogna and the miles and the "look". lol
