RTV is a waterproof silicone sealant that comes in a tube, you can get it at any auto parts store. What he means is that you can probably run a bead of RTV around the pan in circles to make grooves that will catch the heavier particles.

If you have access to an arc welder it would be easier and more permanent to weld the riffles on,, Keep them well to the top of the pan maybe three rows about 1 1/2 inches apart and only about a third of the distance around the pan ,,the smooth part of the pan has its uses also.
