WooHoo!! It's here! It's here! It's here! And the book came today too! Now, I wasn't going to open either package but then I decided I'd better check to make sure the orders were right. So I did. I had to sort of peruse the book to make sure it was something I actually wanted to give my dad. So I did. Then I thought I should look over the paydirt and the pan and all of that stuff...

No! I didn't! But I am going to put it in the closet or in the trunk of my car so I don't. Gosh, I hope my dad's as thrilled about this as I am.

Default gold gold gold,

felix paydirt is the way to go,,i know you allready got the pan,,but just want to say that the 14" proline pan is one of the best,,garret pans have to big too deep of riffles in them,,
Let your dad know that your located in the glacial drift zone, and theres
probly gold in alot of the surounding creeks and tributaries,,
just a thought,,,

Thanks for the pointer on the pan, I'll remember that. I took a look at the book on hunting for gold in the midwest and there are some likely spots listed not terribly far from here.

I hope he's happy with the gift. I am taking my mom gem hunting in Arkansas so I hope they each find some goodies.
