Default Treasure's are where you find them....Bearfoot Gold Camp

Hey Gang,

No....I'm not a paid celebrity.......

A couple weeks ago, a large group of us went to attend a 2008 Gold Fest at Bearfoot Gold Camp in Robbins, North Carolina. Beafoot Gold Camp - Prospecting in North Carolina
This is the second time I've been there and again had a marvelous time. It is a more primitive setup as far as camping goes. Whether you are new to prospecting or experienced, there is something there for you.....different types of prospecting to do.....panning, sluicing, highbanking, dredging.....and the people there are great....treasures for sure!

Here's a link to show you some of the going's on there at the Gold Fest. Shacks Gold
When you get to the site, click on "2008 Gold Fest". Heck, you'll even see my mug in there.

The one picture is some of the color from Bearfoot Gold I got. Some chunky stuff in there!

The other picture is a baby hummingbird that one of the kids found struggling in the creek. A few more minutes and it would have been bass bait! It was the camp mascot for pretty much most of the time we were there. It stayed on the hummingbird feeder and in the general area most of the time. On the 4th day, it finally decided it had enough strength to get by on it's own. Hope to see the little fella again.....another treasure for me.....I'd say it was my favorite.

If any of you contact the folks (Wylie and family) at Bear Foot, tell em' Hawk says "Hi".

I haven't been around the forum much as I have been really busy and will be busy the next couple of weeks also............

Hawk

Good to hear from you, Hawk. I was wondering where you had gone. That looks like a fun place to go. We need to plan a hunt sometimes. You're not that far away from me.........
