Default Welcome and Info

Hi everyone! Welcome to the Prospectors thread. I’ve been very busy lately and now have found the time to write in this thread from time to time. I’m here to meet new people, to help people that are into prospecting and to possibly learn new things myself. You’ll find out prospectors and detectorists have a lot in common. Code of Ethicts, tools, the fun of making a “find” and other things.

In a recent thread the question was asked about finding places to prospect. Below are two very fine links (not the only ones). The GPAA is one of a few national organizations available for prospectors. The GPAA was formed in 1968 to preserve the rights of recreational prospectors, metal detectorists, rock hounding and more.

Tom Ashworths page is a widely known page for prospectors and other related forms of recreation. Such as metal detecting, rockhounds and many more. Tom does have some links that are broken in the area with plans to build your own equipment.

Please post any links you find, questions, information and anything else you think might help other people. I’ll be filling in my profile in the future. If you want to see what I look like go to the main page and look at the funny little prospector. Soon I’ll post a pic of myself. Hopefully it won’t scare you away like it does kids and animals. Have a wonderful day and it’s getting warm in most areas, so it’s time to be getting out and enjoying all these fine hobbies.

Indy
