Default panning near JamesTown Ca.

Spent yesterday with my pan up near JamesTown Ca. got quite a few flakes and REALLY small nugget out of a stream. Lot's of garnet and blacksands. I need to find a partner who's interested enough meet up near the Sonora area though. I don't have a truck and that's what it takes to reach some of the places I'd like to go. May have to break down and buy one just for that purpose before spring.

Unhappy

Hey warrant too bad you don't live closer,i've been trying to find someone to prospect with, and mding with,,i belong to the gpaa, and work a claim
out in the randsburg mining district,,found more gold there than working the creeks, got several places to go,and got two trucks, lil ranger and the big dodge quad cab,
i go alot by myself but thought it would be great to get someone else to go,,i've asked but no takers,,
Its hard to get someone to go out in the middle of the desert on their day
off to digg for gold for 8 hours,,
there should be plenty of places up there to go???

I too was reading through the threads and am In N. Cali Im very new to gold panning but have my Detector and plan on heading into the foothills myself on about 1 or two weekends a month, let me know if you need some help, would love to learn more.

I am thinking of joining GPAA also. They seem to have a lot of educational and mining and panning sites for members.

Default My count is three of us

So,
It seems at least three of us are interested enough to maybe link up? I'd be interested in combining some resources. I do a lot of research in the BLM mining districts and in abandon and ghost town areas through the Motherload area.
I'm available on some week-ends this summer, I'd also like to hit some of the high sierras that I have gaind some old timer knowledge about. there were some towns, ghost towns now, that are only reachable with 4 WD and then only in high summer.

Guys,

I have not been on this site much at al lately....I just saw that we have some people all with the same interest. I will step forward and say, I go to the Auburn, CA area at least twice a month on weeknds to sluice and pan....I'm hooked. I had a guy with a 2.5" dredge we just panned one weekend but he has somewhat drifted away....I'm looking for other to pan, MD, sluice whatever as I really hate to go alone....I am a member also of GPAA and have a small 4dr Toyota but all my camping and prospecting gear fits in it !

Here is my email address if anyone wants company, I don't smoke, am a decent hardworking guy, and more than anything I have GOLD fever bad.

Default Gold In Jamestown Area

I do some gold prospecting and metal detect in the Jamestown/Sonora area. It would be interesting to meet up with others who hunt gold in that area as well. If you plan a prospecting trip together, let me know!

Thumbs up

Well it sure looks like a good group.
I'm in Modesto.Across from the Del Monte cannery.I've retired early from
Signature Fruit Company,Plant 1.(All terminated on October 30,2006-plant closed)
Was up in Sonora this past Sunday.
What's the word on Wood's Creek ?Used to see several cars and trucks.
Now, hardly anyone is there.
Would like to get up past the traffic areas.Ghost towns ? Sounds good.
A few years ago, we took a hard rock mine tour, from Columbia.
The tour guide said "Down in the canyon,is a ghost town called Jupiter."
I'd like to see the place.
This was on the way to Italian Bar-GPAA/LDMA property.
Was a member of the GPAA.A story in itself.
With the removal of the former caretaker,in the late 90's,wouldn't mind to return. Was that snotty,holier-than-thou, that caused me to quit.
I see that Tom Massey took my suggestion to become lifers of the GPAA.
Spoke to him about 1996-97 at a meeting in Stockton.
Now, a lifer of the Untied Prospectors,Inc.
Mrktwiz:I don't blame you for wanting a pard to go.Too many people of unknown origin, that want nothing, but to relieve you of what you have.
It does pay to have good, armed pards with ya !
Sure beats talkin to yurself !
See ya !
