Default Cave Hunting?

Have done some research, and where I live there are many caves, and as history goes, the Indians used them for shelter. Has anyone ever hunted inside of caves? If so can you offer some feedback?

Default cave hunting

i have done some ,but i dont advise it.better know what you are doing. lots of things to be aware of underground, oxygen, gases, black damp andthe top over your head is it good or bad? which way out? if you are going to far under ground.to much tresures on top of the ground to worry about going to far under the rock....creek

Default Cave experience!

I have hunted the caves or over hangs here in the Texas area all my life.
The inside of the caves are not so much a place where they lived as much as an area where they sought temp shelter. The outside areas is where you are more likely to find more, you can and do find items inside just not as much. Always look on top of the shelter as well.
I have excavated with professional Archeologists and people like myself who just like to "find".
BTW my family over a period of 40 years have found over 10K points ranging from the rarest to the most common.
I personally like finding the effigies.
The inside is more likely to hold burial remains. The deeper caverns rarely contain any more than Bats.
Always seek permission and tell the land owner if you find burials.
Should you find a burial please respect them and dig elsewhere.
