i was thinking of a way to find out about the lost treasure out their, from train robberys and people burying their stash and pirates landing and stashing away their loot , how do you know that someone already found it , and they didnt report it back then and how many people already went out their to do the same as us the treasure hunters who come up empty handed, we do research and get to the place and hunt and come up empty handed. does anyone know the real truth so we dont stumble over each others trail this site is great so lets start and set things staight, i hear so much about where people went but come up with nothing but the excitment of being their lets realy find something and join together for leads . this is for everyone thanks jw

Hey JW,

Its really hard to say where they buried their stolen loot because it happend so long ago. Sure there was hear say and stories of these locations but you know how stories and tales were added to in time.
At times these hidden cashes can be found by research but it is rare it is also worth a shot because you just never know what could be!

GADGET, RESEARCH is the backbone of TREASURE HUNTING. That's why we call it treasure hunting and not Treasure finding. If you really get into the research aspect you will find that you will have a Great time Metal detecting instead of just going out hunting. GADGET, I want to address a lillte further the post that you made concerning finding treasure..Did you ever stop just for a moment to think that a whole lot of those treasures may have been found at some time but I doubt seriously that many of them were reported. Most of the people that have found true treasures are gone now and that leads me to think....WHERE ARE THOSE TREASURES THAT THEY FOUND NOW? They have to be somewhere. If it wasn't for research what would Mel Fisher and all the other greats have done? BELIEVE ME...THOSE TREASURES ARE STILL OUT THERE WAITING TO BE FOUND...GO GET EM......PAPPY

also you dont want to not go to a site because you think someone has already searched for the treasure there. how many sites have you heard about that say they are all hunted out but then someone goes there and finds a ton of coins. its all in the patience and tecnique of the hunter.

I'd like to tell you a little story. It concerns a group of miners(DEF) who decided to get together and enlighten the public about dredging. This story took place on the Umpqua River in Southern Oregon in 2001(I think).
At the easy access point for putting in dredges, there was a very large boulder in the middle of the river.
All the professional dredgers knew that it had been dredged, because that would have been the logical place to start.
Along comes a couple of NEW prospectors who borrowed a dredge from one of the professionals and proceeded to dredge behind that boulder. They hit a mother lode of over 11 oz of gold in a area everybody thought was already worked out.
The moral of the story goes, Even if you're sure someone already looked/found a treasure, there's always a chance they didn't get it all.
