Default Just Wondering...

how many of ya'll enjoy MD'ing as couples? Do you each have detectors?

My hubby isn't into going out and actually wielding the detector, but he'll come out with me occasionally and do the digging...but he's like a little kid and more often than not wanders off after awhile when his attention is caught by fish in the creek, deer in the woods, planes flying overhead He's got dreams of me finding a gold conductors watch along the rail bed, or going to a battlefield finding him his own little piece of Civil War history. And the pirate jokes are still there...he's dying to buy me a parrot and an eye patch

Just wondering how it is in other households....

Rikki,

My wife was about the same as your husband...until she went beachcombing with me last week at a nearby lake....she helped me dig up a pocket-drop (illustrated on my 2007 Coin Counter below) and now she's fired up! She insisted that I buy a Vibroprobe to better locate finds - and will likely keep the Prizm III that I bought a year ago...as soon as I'm in town long enough to have Chuck show me what beauties he has for sale... I would be willing to wager that after the first substantial find (in his eyes) that y'all dig up - he'll be wanting a machine of his own!

Best of luck - and HH!
Shawn

Hi Riki
I got into detecting because Mike was always out in the fields,I was either left at home or trailing on behind him carrying his digger.
One day he suggested I have a go and that was it,he had a problem getting the detector away from me,so the next week we went of and purchased a second hand machine for me and very quickly I was upgrading and have never looked back.
Although Mike has had some very nice finds,he complains that I always out do him.It is so much more fun when you can go out together and someone else is there to share your joy when something special pops up.
Happy Hunting is Togetherness.

My wife currently is not too interested in our hobby but I am going to keep on trying to get her interested. I know it will be worth it.

My significant other has gone a couple of times and got bored when I dug and dug and dug for a penny. Maybe she'll change her tune since I've found a bit of silver!

I do have a huntin' buddy, though, from the forum. Greenwenvy is meeting us for dinner tonight! We've been huntin' a few times and it's so cool to meet up every once in a while to check in.

My wife comes along with her camera and the dog, those two wander off and see what they can find while I am digging away ..............

My husband is interested to know what I find but has no interest in the hobby. I have 2 detectors so he has no excuse.

I bought the first detector to get my husband off his sick bed. We both loved it. Now we are a four detector family and anytime we go out it is together.

My plans are to get a second detector so maybe my wife will tag along sometimes. She does like to go Geocaching with me every now and then.

My wife does not show an interest in my hobby. She thinks we are all geeks... but she has always thought i was a geek mainly because of my job in cryptology/intel analyst but one day I suppose she will get involved probably after I bring home that one elusive find. It would be kind of nice to have her out there with me, also I think it may be the little ones too. Someone has to keep an eye on them, although sometimes they like to follow me around when I am hunting, but they have the attention span of a knat. Happy Hunting and I am glad that some of you have someone to spend time with hunting.
