Question Maker's Mark

I am not sure this is the proper place for questions like the one I have, but it seems the best of all the choices.
I found the attached sterling silver ring at the beach. It probably doesn't have any worth, but I would prefer to have a 'story' about it. I have tried every link I can find with maker's mark information, but haven't been able to find this one. Anything with a 925 and "ss" or "sterling" should have an identifiable maker's mark.
Is anyone out there knowledgeable about more modern maker's marks (this doesn't appear to be an antique). Or maybe someone has a ring with this mark?
I would appreciate any help.

Hey John! Nice lookin' ring I've seen rings very similar at the swap meet in Costa Mesa. I just noticed we're from the same city! I'm in Laguna Hills, too.

If you don't mind me asking, what beach do you hunt? I've been very unlucky at the beaches with my machine (Ace250). Of course, I've only gone 3 times. I tend to stick to parks and places where I can dig.

Pris - I usually search Main Beach in Laguna. Depending on the tides overnight (high tide less than 5.2 is good) I go to the other beaches in Laguna. Aliso Beach south of Laguna has lots of coins, but is a real problem for me because there are billions of little pieces of rusted metal from tearing down the pier. Huntington Beach is also a GREAT beach, but parking in lots starts charging at 5 AM and on the street at 6 AM at $1.50 an hour.
Check my post in the new members forum "New Member having fun" or my user id johnj45586 for a detailed description of my hunting techniques.
Also I have an inventory of what I have found in Laguna in the past 2 months. I have picked up 7 1/4 pounds of coins just searching the dry sand.

John,

The design is very similar to a ring that I was told illustrated a celtic symbol for eternal friendship...the ring I saw had been handcrafted by a custom jeweler friend of mine - so I suppose he knew what he was talking about...just a stab...

I think you may have something there. A friendship ring makes sense. And a small time maker wouldn't necessarily have a maker's mark in any of the registries I have seen. The "WJo" portion of the mark represents the maker. I will check on the Celtic symbology and try search terms with that also.
Thanks, I think I am closer to a credible story now.

That is one of the sites I have bookmarked as a favorite. I have searched all over that site and left messages on the forum with no luck. They seem to be experts on antiques and get a little vague as you move into the 20th century. So far nothing I have found has been an antique. And most of the stuff marked 925 and/or sterling has not had maker's marks.
Good suggestion though - highly recommended site.
Thanks

Interesting ring. Can't seem to match the mark with what I have handy though. Sorry. Hopefully someone can help.
