I made a Hipmount/Belt Clip attachment for my White's 6000 Di S3 unit. These old White's detectors weigh a TON...
Below are a couple of pics of my unit with bracket attached. Slides down over my belt and works perfect. I made an extra bracket for ( big bill in sc ) for his 6000 Di, and sent him one. He should have gotten it today. Maybe these pics will give you an idea of what to do for your detector. If ya need any help, just hollar.... ![]() P.S. PLEASE excuse my FAT belly. I drink Beer and eat wayyyy too much Cheesecake..... ![]() ![]()

That is an excellent design!!!! You should market that!! I used to own a 6000 di/pro so I know exactly what you mean about the older units but even the new ones are hard on the arm after hours of hunting. I had the hipmount kit for the 6000 that Whites sold but yours is much better. I was hoping someone on here was using one of the kits on the newer machines. Thanks for showing your design. You may get some orders after everyone on here see that!

I've never used a hipmount, I considered it when I bought my Excalibur, but after reading up, I had concerns about cable failure and heard that the straight shaft was the way to go. It works fine for me.
But I know that straight shafts aren't an option for all detectors so another option would be something called, I think a "Swingy Thingy." It attaches to your detector and body somehow and is supposed to work well. Maybe some of the sponsors sell them and I'm sure they'll chime in if they do. I know that some detectors are just plain heavy and/or not well balanced and you may need an aftermarket fix for those, but one thing to be aware of during swinging is your posture. I used to get a sore shoulder from detecting and started being more aware of my shoulder position, kept it back like my other one. I think that and some excercise helped me.
