I use the rechargeable most of the time that came with my whites. I get around 15 to 20 hours use till needing to recharge again. My outings average 3 to 5 hours at the most so this works just fine for me. I also use the AA when I need a back up. I prefer the rechargeable instead of having to go out and buy batteries all the time!

Default Kinds of Batteries

I'm beginning to realize how little i know about detectors. I have a battery pack that i recharge whenever I get the certain beep that they're not working any more. Often wondered if i'm overcharging but no instructions came with the battery pack. I use a minelab. Is this the same as rechargable batteries. Boy am i confused.

Hey abbenormal,
Most of the detector manufacturers that have rechargeable battery packs have Trickle Chargers and some have the Quick Charge option switch. I doubt your overcharging the Minelab batteries. I recharge mine overnight about every two weeks when not in use and about 6 hrs when i put in a good 6 to 8 hr day hunting and want to go out the next day. HH Bill

Default Rechargable Batteries?

Love those rechargable batteries !!! I own a Spectrum XLT and the battery charger has a FAST CHARGE and an overnight charge switch !! So if ya want a FAST charge (2hrs.) it does really well and your good to go !!!! If ya put it on overnight battery charger MAKE SURE the switch is in the overnight position and not on FAST charge and keep an eye on it cause if ya accidently leave it on FAST CHARGE and over charge the battery it will be a trip to the repair shop for your Spectrum XLT !!! HAPPY HUNTING !!! KENNETH
