Default Huntin the winter ?

Love to hunt in the woods, in the Fall anyway !!!!BUT, I dont like the ticks and all the creepy crawlers that seem to ruin the day of hunting in the spring and summer in the woods !!! I live in Oklahoma and there is an abundance of creepy crawlers here in the spring and summer !!! I detect the lawns of old houses during the summer time that way I dont have to spend an hour picking off ticks that came from the woods !!! Winter time I do research and compile some areas to hunt in the spring !!! I ordered some OLD maps of my area and compare the old map with a modern map . There are quit a few areas that I can find the used to be gattering places back in the early 1900s that are not over grown with weeds !!!! I have had pretty good luck in these areas !! BUT ya gotta do the research !!!!! Sorry ta ramble on but I run into detectorist that say " There just aint no where to detect except the same parks !!! To that I say " BAHH HUMBUG" !!!! Have a Merry christmas everyone !!! HAPPY HUNTING ! KENNETH

Default Our Stuff

Thanks for asking Rip, here's some of our stuff.
Pen and Ink is a marriage between I car I found in Body and a house I found in Virginia City, both ghost towns.
Necklace is onyx, turquoise, and sterling.
Headstall like I said Rosie cuts the leather out of full sides and does the sewing, everything but the throat latch is doubled and I do the braiding out of kangaroo.
We have a good time with this stuff, both of us are retired, well let me restate that, we no longer work for the man, so we put all our time when we are not out detecting, fishing whatever into our products. We sell at different art shows and festivals during the year as well as being represented in the local art gallery, web page soon to come with the full range of our work under our business name of Dusty Mustang Leather. We have been blessed in that we can do this, we both had careers for over 25 years each but are now able to spend as much time as we want on our art.
Thanks again for asking... Bob

Cruising.

Now that gas prices are dropping and it's off season here in Galveston.
I like driving along the coast, discovering new places to hunt and just being outside.

There are also some new places in west Texas I want to seek out.

Thumbs up Long johns & insulated clothes

I will hit the ski & sledding slopes for lost rings and coin. Than some woods if the snow is not too deep. The ground in the woods does not seem to freeze as hard under the leaves as in the open parks etc.
