Is there anyone on the forum who uses a Whites M6 or maybe someone
familar with this type of machine who can give me the basics on operating
GB, disc,ect.. The only MD'S I have ever used where a Prizm ll and a Garrett ace 250. I have a good idea of what to do but some things I'm a bit confused about and the owners manual dose not help. Thanks- Dave

Go to whites home page and they have a video of how to use the M6 as well as most of their detectors.

I have the instructional DVD that came with it. I'm basically confused I guess with the auto-trac feature. And the "lock" feature. I really don't know when I should use lock or why. Other than that.. I think Im ok..
Any help?? Thanks Guys- Dave

Dave,

Here are some tips about the ground tracking system on the M6 that I gave to another guy that ask the same question about his M6.

With the M6 put it in the track position, pumping the coil a few times will quicken the ground balance process( I recommend pumping the coil in the track mode to quicken and stabilize ground balancing, then check the balance with the procedure listed below) or it will track on its own and balance within a few feet of detecting. The lock position works really well in heavy trash and iron infested sites and stables out the operation of the M6 at these types of sites(Note make sure to balance in the track mode first in a good clean area first before locking the ground balance) Any time you want to check the ground balance in the lock or track position just raise the coil to waist height, pull the pin point trigger, place the coil above the ground and pump the coil up and down. If the sound increases as you go towards the ground or decreases as you lift the coil from the ground just switch back to the track mode pump the coil a few times pull the pin point trigger and repeat above steps. When the M6 is rebalanced, lock it in again and go on detecting. The track mode works very well over all in most conditions as well as being fast and quick in response to the ground

I have a M6 & XL Pro. I have also owned the XLT,DFX and the MXT. I still prefer the XL Pro over all and give it a 10 but the M6 is a close second and I give it a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10 for a coin shooter. The M6 is probably a better beach detector with the 6x10DD which I highly recommend on the M6 or the MXT also the 5.3 Eclipse is great in trash on the M6.

Good Luck and enjoy your new M6,
B-G
