Bounty Tracker IV- good metal detector?

I am looking to buy my 1st metal detector and don't want to spend a great deal of money but want one that is considered a good metal detector and was told of this one. Do you guys feel that this is a good meat detector?

Its not bad, you might want to look at the Ace 250 also.

Buy what you can afford and learn your detector well..You'll do fine.

For the money the Tracker IV is an OK detector. You can start there but I think you'll want to upgrade soon after. Not a bad place to start though.

thanks so much for your help. i was looking at the ace 250 but for right now it's a little out of my price range. if i get hooked which reading what yout guys fing i probably will maybe at that point i will end up upgrading:)

I got the ACE 250 and my son bought the Bounty Hunter IV. Both were first detectors for both of us. He finds just as much stuff as I do. The only thing is I can pin point better and have a depth reading. The pin pointing on the 250 is handy for me but the depth reading seems to be all over the place??
Long story short, go for what you can afford and get out there and start finding stuff.
