Default Bounty Hunter batteries

The manual for my discovery 3300 says to use only alkaline batteries.
Does anyone know if the rechargable ni-cad or metal hydride batteries would work and ,if so, would they affect the performance or warranty?

i dont know on 9 volt. but get a high m.a.h rating. and they work better than alkilines. but when they discharge you will know it.

I Have Used Both But Prefer Metal Hydride As They Don't Develop A Memory, And Can Be Recharged Any Time. Not Like Ni-cad Where You Usually Have To Run Them Down. Alkaline Especially Duracel Last About 18 Hr. Metal Hydride Approx. 12 Hr Before Recharging

Default Batteries

I have used standard cheap batteries in my 3300 and after about 6 hours of use I was at 1 bar of life. The Duracell ultralife I have gotten like 24 hours of total use. I tried to use some old NiCads but only got a little over 1 hour till I was at 1 bar and it got unstable. I might try Nickel Metal if I can find a deal on them somewhere.

Stainless, I only get a bout 6 hours on my 3300 using Rayovac alkalines. It tends to eat 'em up a lot faster than some of my other detectors. Monty
