Default Whites Prizm V

Hello, New to metal detecting and recently bought a Prizm V. Is this detector safe to use on the beach? Have had it nowhere but my yard and have found some late date pennies, dimes and a ton of junk.
thanks in advance, Tim

I have a prizm 5 myself and it does good for me , new at this (3 months), so far about 18 silver dimes , 2 barbers and 4 silver quarters and some nice odd;s and end's , i know you can use the disc in water , sand ?, my area is all black river sand and i find good stuff there also and on the river beaches aroud here. But get a pro's advice, my experience is very limited . good hunting and about 150.00 in clad so far .

Thanks for your reply Dave. Got to get it out when I find the time. Do you use headphones? I was wondering what set would match up with the prizm?

I use white's head phones (35.00) , but a nother guy on the site here said you could go to any store and buy a set that fits in your ear and only cost 12.00, has to have a quarter inch jack on it .

All headphones are not created equal.
The idea for the use of headphones is to lower your battery consumption , make deep signals recognizable with out any back ground noise and keep out unwanted sounds to name a few. Small headsets (lightweight or otherwise) cannot keep out the outside noise. Cheap headphones will work ,but , if you ever put on a pair of Grey Ghost or Killer B's or Sunray Gold for example , you'll wonder why you were using the others in the first place. Whites headphones are certainly not worth 49.95 or even 24.95. They are bothersome to the ears to most people and do not perform as well as the other sets I mentioned.
