Does waterproof mean submersable

wow the more I look the more I get confussed. Is waterproof,really waterproof? I have miles of river and stream beds to hunt..Can I dip the waterproof disks?

Waterproof means you can completely submerse whatever it is that is waterproof. This could mean only the coil or the whole detector.
