starting over

I got interested in MD about 2 yrs. ago, but going thru a divorce, and other things ,I didn't get to use the equipment I bought until now, so I'm just now trying to get started.
I really enjoyed registering for your site, you all really made me feel welcome.
I live in SW Missouri, and mainly will be looking for coins, and some civil war artifacts since I live near Wilsons Creek Battlefield.
I would like to know if my equipment will be good for this type of hunting,also any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
My MD is a White's Prizm III, also a White's 120mm Bullseye pin pointer.
Thanks for your help, and accepting me into your group. Any tips on getting started?
