Hello everyone,
I recently relocated here to Greenfield from CT. Before coming here I recently purchased a new detector (excaliber 1000),however, I have no clue on where to start. Can anyone please give me some ideas on where I may metal detect, especially in and around the water.

Thank you

Hi Jeff, I'm also from Indiana. I'm an hour and half North from you....straight up on the map! I don't detector too far from home so I don't know where to go around there, but I do remember reading about something about the fair grounds in Indianapolis, that it was some camp back in the civil war days. When I figure where I read that info at I'll let you know. Until then welcome to TQ!!

Ok it was called Camp Morton, In Indianapolis.... in operation 1862-1865 , but it has now been turned into a historical park, but If you get the chance to look up the Info on this camp it is very interesting.
