where to start in west virginia

I am new , can anyone tell me where to start in west virginia. I am in the Harrison county area. I checked with my local parks in Clarksburg and they said there was no detecting allowed due to the no digging rules. Please help

Hello,i Don't Know Exactly Where Your At But A Couple Of Months Ago I Was In The Chestnut Ridge Park And Asked If I Could Do Some Detecting And They Said It Was Fine,and They Also Noted That Nobody Ever Asked,we Did Find Some Jewelery And 3 Silver Coins That I Showed In An Old Post.the Area Is Coopers Rock, Just Outside Of Morgantown. Goodluck!

My cousin is the Park Ranger at Cooper's Rocks.....I never thought about going there to detect.
