Found about 78 cents in the backyard this morn. (enough to pay for my coffee), (well, almost).
I've been playing with my 5900/DI Pro SL. Trying to follow the instructions thru the manual for 'signal balance' and 'ground balance'.
I don't think I'm doing it correctly, but somethings working,...I'm finding coins, just wish I understood how I'm doing it. When ground balancing, does the machine need to be in GEB/Norm or can it be balanced in GEB/Disc also.
I've used the presets to start, but I've noticed that when I have a low, continuous sound (threshold), waist-high, it disappears by the time I lower it to the ground.
I've tried turning SIG BAL clockwise and counterclockwise in conjuction with the GEB dial (coarse and fine), but it goes away.
I did mention that I was having problems with the needle jumping, while the 'sig bal' was at the preset and that I had to back it off, almost all the way to 'Bad GRND' mark. Today, it acted pretty good up around the preset mark, but I don't think this has anything to do with sound disappearing.
I'm gonna sit down and reread the manual for the 5th time and see if theres something I'm missing. I figure sooner or later my brain will absorb it.
Other than that, I'm having a good time messing with it, and I did find 2 quarters laying on top of each other about 7" down.
