Good Luck with your GTP. I only had mine a few months but i do remember that it was a very sensitivity driven and didn't have to run much over 50% -60% sens at most places and will emit overload responses on shallow targets, even coins if sens is too high.
Be careful if using notch discrimination patterns especially in nickel range. Some nickels read low and may need to keep at least two blocks so as not to miss nickels and for every pattern block you omit it could carry over to the next block reading and could possibly miss a weak signal response. You mentioned you want to find Anything and once an object goes into the ground and mixes with the soil conditions and other stuff around it and sinks a bit ,the detector could respond to any target as anything. A lot of folks that used a few different Garrett detectors find the GTP 1350 to be an Excellent detector. Good Luck. HH Bill |
