And when I asked about using an Metal Detector, he said no ..... because Years before, there was this group of Metal Detectorists, that they had found a lot of CW artifacts and said they were going to Write this Report and never did it...

Oh he said that I would not find anything else......because they found it all.. I said to him, this was years ago there are some Really Nice and Fancy Metal Detectors now!!

I don't know what my point is, but do know that I am not that Lady Archaeologist and I nothing like her!!

There are some High and Mighty types like that here in Missouri like that Lady Archaeologist.....but I just let it go thru one Ear and out the other Ear…..so that’s that!!

Thank you for your comments Chris, metal detectorists have gotten a bad rap in the past, please know that I personally would never detect private or restricted areas as most on here wouldn't, we're very courteous of where we detect, we remove trash as we find it, refill the holes we make & try to leave the area as we found it, we treat the property as we would our own & we would never destroy it in any way whatsoever.

Default Writing is for words but not always for meaning!

My Honey HATES to use email for exactly the reason you got squashed!! Can't put a tone of voice and a grin in every word to get your meaning across.

Any hoo....My mom's from MO, grew up near St. Louis. Her Dad was Blood brothers with Chief Sunrise (Joseph something), who was the grandson of Sitting Bull. I don't know much else, but I have some of his stuff. What do you know of the Lacota in the area in the 1930's? Oh, Grampa's name was Burren Holmes. He and Sunrise started what became the Y Indian Guides.

OH! I almost forgot!
Welcome to TQ!!!

Chris

Accepted gladly if you'll accept mine in return. I've not taken offence on a personal level, just caught me with my guard down. Perhaps I've judged in haste, and for that I appologise. Look forward to your future posts, perhaps some stories of your expeditions with pictures.

Regards
Leo

Hey Chris, an apology wasn't necessary, just clarification, but thank you just the same.

I will also apologize for the misunderstanding, thank you for your offer of help and welcome you to TQ.

My daughter and her family live in western MO (Jackson County) and next time I get out there, who knows, maybe we can hunt together.

Hi Chris! Welcome to TQ! I am sure you will be an asset here with your knowledge! I also read every book on archeology in my school and library. I wasn't a big fan of school and was dissapointed to hear it wasn't all digging. It's a shame because I actually like to do the research. I am facinated with the Incas, Myans and Aztecs. I got to Chichen Itza a few years ago and have Machu Pichu planned as a future vacation. I personally haven't found much to brag about but anything of significance I find would go to out local historical society. I would feel right having it collect dust in my house. I keep the coins though. Good luck to you!
